Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin strongly criticized the arrest of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), labeling it as an "outrageous and shameful" act.
Soren, who resigned as Jharkhand Chief Minister just before his arrest, faced hours of questioning regarding a money laundering case tied to an alleged land scam.
In a scathing response, Stalin condemned the BJP-led central government's actions, denouncing the arrest as a "blatant display of political vendetta."
He expressed concern over the alleged misuse of investigative agencies to target a tribal leader, terming it a "new low" and an abuse of power.
Stalin, through a post on social media platform X, stated, "Despite BJP’s vindictive politics, Thiru @HemantSorenJMM stands strong, refusing to bow down.
His resilience in the face of adversity is commendable. His determination to fight back against BJP’s bullying tactics is an inspiration."
The arrest has fueled accusations of desperation and dirty political tactics by the BJP, with Stalin asserting that such actions will not silence opposition voices.
The incident highlights the ongoing political tensions and power struggles between the ruling party and the opposition in India.
