After creating a show-reel for the film, she approached multiple production companies. However, the filmmaker emphasized that "Lal Salaam" operates on a smaller budget compared to the suggested Rs 40 crore, making it a unique venture in its own right.

The turning point came when Rajinikanth, after reviewing the show-reel, expressed interest in being part of the project. He not only endorsed the film but also suggested playing a role in it.
