Directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth and produced by Lyca Productions, 'Lal Salaam' has Rajinikanth in a cameo titled 'Moideen Bhai'.
Superstar Rajinikanth, known for his impactful public speeches, addressed the crowd at the 'Lal Salaam' audio launch in Chennai on January 26. During his speech, he clarified that the 'crow-eagle' story shared at the 'Jailer' audio launch was not directed at Thalapathy Vijay. Rajinikanth expressed that he considers Vijay a well-wisher and not a competitor in his political journey.
The 'Jailer' audio launch had stirred fan conflicts on social media due to the interpretation of Rajinikanth's crow and eagle analogy. Dismissing the rumors, Rajinikanth said, "The story of a crow and eagle was interpreted differently. On social media, many spread rumors saying it was against Vijay. It's so disappointing." Rajinikanth reminisced about Vijay's early days in the film industry, highlighting that he had seen Vijay grow up, starting from the shooting of 'Dharmathin Thalaivan' when Vijay was just 13 years old.
Recalling an encounter with a young Vijay, Rajinikanth shared, "SA Chandrasekhar introduced Vijay to me and said that he was interested in acting. He asked me to tell Vijay to concentrate on his studies first. I advised him to complete his schooling." Rajinikanth acknowledged Vijay's journey to stardom, attributing it to his discipline, hard work, and talent. He expressed sadness over the perceived competition between them and urged fans not to compare the two iconic actors.
On the work front, Rajinikanth is set to appear in his daughter Aishwarya's upcoming film, 'Lal Salaam,' scheduled for release on February 9. Concurrently, he is shooting for director TJ Gnanavel's 'Vettaiyan,' expected to hit cinemas later this year. Additionally, Rajinikanth is involved in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's project, 'Thalaivar 171.'
