Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his heartfelt desire to collaborate with renowned director Mani Ratnam once again. The duo previously worked together in the 1998 film 'Dilse,' where Shah Rukh Khan showcased his iconic dance moves atop a running train. Despite their successful collaboration, they haven't joined forces since.
During a recent event attended by both Shah Rukh Khan and Mani Ratnam, the actor was questioned about the prospect of teaming up with the celebrated director again. Shah Rukh Khan enthusiastically responded, "I've been requesting him for another film for ages. I'm ready to go to any lengths for a chance to act in Mani’s film. I'd even dance on a plane if required."
In a lighthearted exchange, Mani Ratnam humorously pledged to make Shah Rukh Khan dance on a plane as soon as he acquired one. Shah Rukh Khan playfully commented, "Mani, let me clarify the logistics of my films; planes are not too far off." The banter continued with Mani Ratnam jokingly assuring to bring the plane down to Earth.
The iconic song 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' from their previous collaboration, 'Dil Se,' served as a reminder of their on-screen magic. Adding to his accolades, Shah Rukh Khan was honored with the 'India's Best Man of the Year' award for 2023 in Delhi. Reflecting on recent challenges, he shared, "In the last four to five years, my family and I have faced various struggles. Despite film setbacks and unwarranted criticism, I've learned to stay calm and work hard with dignity."
