Fathima Farhana, State Coordinator of NTK Youth Pasarai, Speaks Out on Alleged Political Interference and BJP's Vendetta: "We Will Not Be Silenced"

In an exclusive interview, Fathima Farhana, the esteemed State Coordinator of NTK Youth Pasarai, sheds light on recent developments surrounding the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), including the contentious removal of the party's iconic 'sugarcane farmer' symbol and the purported retaliatory actions by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Amidst mounting challenges and accusations of political vendetta, Farhana remains steadfast in her resolve, affirming that the NTK will not waver in its pursuit of justice and equitable representation.

Q

Do you believe there was political interference in the removal of the 'sugarcane farmer' symbol?

A

We meticulously followed all protocols outlined by the Election Commission to secure the 'sugarcane farmer' symbol. However, it was disheartening to see it allocated to a party based in Karnataka, especially considering their leader's affiliation with the BJP. This decision appears to be a calculated political maneuver rather than a fair allocation process. We are prepared to take legal action to reclaim our symbol through the appropriate channels.

Q

The NTK has been facing various challenges, often attributed to 'BJP's revenge'. Can you elaborate on this perception?

A

The recent NIA raids targeting our party leaders in unrelated cases, followed by inflammatory statements from Union Minister L Murugan, are clear indications of targeted harassment. Threats issued during questioning by NIA officials, coupled with statements hinting at the demise of the Naam Tamilar Katchi post-2024, paint a troubling picture. It is evident that these actions align with a larger agenda aimed at destabilizing our party, orchestrated by the BJP.

Q

Why BJP have to target NTK?

A

As the third-largest party in Tamil Nadu with a strong youth following, the Naam Tamilar Katchi remains steadfast in its commitment to advocate for equal opportunities regardless of caste or creed. The BJP's discomfort with our inclusive ideology, juxtaposed with their rhetoric on Sanatan principles, underscores their motives behind targeting us. We are resolute in our mission to represent the voice of the people and will not be deterred by such tactics.

Thirumavalavan Interview: Regional Parties as India's Future?
Q

Seeman initially announced you as the candidate for Central Chennai but later withdrew the nomination. Can you shed light on this decision?

A

The decision to withdraw my candidacy was made by the leadership based on strategic considerations. In a political landscape where competition is rampant, it is imperative to prioritize effective grassroots campaigning over individual aspirations. I fully support the leadership's discernment in redirecting resources where they are most needed. This shift allows me to focus on amplifying the party's message across diverse platforms, contributing to our collective objectives.
