Rajasthan's Tribal Development Minister, Babulal Karati, who secured victory in the recent assembly elections, made a controversial statement during a public meeting in Udaipur.
The minister's remark, suggesting a correlation between childbirth and housing under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, left the audience amused.
Following the triumph of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Rajasthan assembly elections, the selection of the chief minister raised eyebrows. Contrary to expectations, first-time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma was appointed as the chief minister.
Subsequently, a cabinet of 22 ministers, including Babulal Kharadi, was sworn in.
During the Viksit bharat sankalp Yatra camp in Udaipur, Minister Babulal Kharadi addressed the crowd, asserting that it was the Prime Minister's vision to ensure that no one sleeps hungry without shelter. However, his statement took an unusual turn when he remarked, "Give birth to lot of children, Modi will build a house for you." The comment elicited laughter from both the dignitaries on the dais and the crowd.
Despite the controversial remark, Minister Babulal Kharadi highlighted the government's initiatives. He mentioned a reduction of Rs 200 in the price of cooking gas cylinders at the central level and the Rajasthan BJP government providing cylinders at Rs 450 under the Ujjwala scheme.
It is noteworthy that Minister Babulal surviving with his wife, has a family of eight children.
