The controversy began with accusations of irregularities in the issuance of licenses and an illegal transfer of Rs 100 crore in the sale of liquor in New Delhi. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was subsequently arrested by the ED, which argued there was evidence of a significant financial transfer and concerns about witness tampering.
Chief Minister Kejriwal, implicated in the formulation of the contentious liquor policy, has faced multiple summons from the ED.
