"Blue Star," produced by Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions and Lemon Leaf Productions, is set to release on January 25.
The film's audio launch took place at Sathyam Theatre in Chennai, featuring speeches from various crew members.
Director Pa Ranjith, speaking at the event, expressed satisfaction with the film's outcome. He acknowledged Neelam's recurrent challenges with censorship and noted that the film underwent revisions, receiving a U/A rating. Pa Ranjith praised singer Arivu's unique contribution, highlighting a melodious song that diverges from his usual political compositions.
He also commended composer Govind Vasantha's exceptional musical work, appreciating his understanding of the cinematic landscape, shared his appreciation for the lead actress Keerthi Pandian's speech.
Pa Ranjith emphasized the day's significance, drawing attention to the societal shifts in India and the urgent need to combat backwardness and religiosity through artistic expression. He metaphorically stated that not having camphor in one's house today (citing the Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration) equates to being labelled a terrorist.
On a broader note, Pa Ranjith emphasized the role of art in combating societal backwardness and religiosity. He addressed the Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration and the day's significance, commenting on India's evolving non-secular socio-political climate. Expressing concerns about the country's direction in the next decade, he underscored the urgency to use artistic expression to challenge regressive ideologies.
Regarding Rajinikanth's expressed desire to attend the Ram temple inauguration, Pa Ranjith encouraged scrutiny of the underlying political dynamics. While addressing Rajinikanth's claim of solving a centuries-old problem, Pa Ranjith insisted on questioning the broader political context. He articulated that transcending a simplistic view of right and wrong, he has some criticisms regarding Rajini's speech.
