Jasprit Bumrah, India's premier fast bowler, recently shared a poignant post accompanied by a picture of his late father. Bumrah's father passed away when the cricketer was just five years old, leaving his mother, Daljit, to raise him amidst economic challenges. Despite facing numerous hardships, Bumrah's unwavering determination led him to overcome the obstacles, realizing his cricketing dream.
Having carved a niche for himself in the world of cricket, Bumrah achieved another milestone in 2021 when he tied the knot with TV host Sanjana Ganesan. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in September of the same year. Despite his busy schedule, Bumrah, who was participating in the Asia Cup, took a break midway through the series to be with his family and meet his newborn.
In a heartfelt social media post, Bumrah shared an old picture capturing a tender moment with his father and child, expressing the perpetual void left by his father's absence. Reflecting on his journey as a father himself, Bumrah acknowledged the emotions and experiences he missed sharing with his own father.
"We can always feel your void in our lives. After I became a father, I realized what a father felt and the things I missed in my life. Wish you had been with us now while reminiscing about some happy memories," Bumrah penned in his emotional tribute.
Known for his stellar performances for the Indian cricket team and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, Bumrah has been an indispensable asset. Although rested for the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan, Bumrah is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming five-match Test series against England, where he has been appointed as the vice-captain under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
