Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Welcome Baby Boy Akaay | Share News On Instagram

On Tuesday,former captain of India Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma announced the arrival of their second child, and named him Akaay.

On his social media accounts, Kohli made the major announcement and asked for privacy at the same time.

Vamika, a baby girl born in 2021, is already a blessing to Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli.

On his Instagram page, Kohli himself has now declared the arrival of their son, their second kid.

"With abundant happiness and our hearts all of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika's little brother into this world!"

The significant disclosure made by Kohli explains the 'personal reasons' behind his absence.

After being included in the Indian team for the first two Test matches against England, Kohli withdrew from the series just days before the first match in Hyderabad, giving reason to rumours that he would become a father again.

The BCCI release stated that Kohli spoke to India captain Rohit Sharma and the team management regarding his decision, where he emphasised that while representing his country has always been a priority, 'certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention.'

Rajat Patidar was his replacement in the match.

Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers on his own YouTube channel,disclosed that Anushka and Kohli were expecting their second child.


Declaring that he had made a "blunder" in his last video, the former captain expressed his regret to Kohli.

"My friend Virat Kohli is still not available. I cry out to everyone to give him the privacy that he deserves. Family comes first. No one knows what exactly is going on. I am asking all of us to respect that. I made a blunder in my previous show and I apologise to the Kohli family for that," ABD said on his YouTube channel.

Fans and members of the cricket and film industries showered the comment section with well wishes as soon as the couple announced their good news.
