It was reported in 2019 at the All Women Police Station in Washermanpet that three girls who lived in the Washermanpet police district of Chennai had been sexually harassed.
After the POCSO filed, the girls were investigated separately and the accused found guilty . Later, the police arrested the man who had sexually harassed the girls, produced him in court and imprisoned him.
The case was pending before the POCSO Special Court in the Madras High Court premises. The judgment was handed down yesterday after the arguments of both the parties were concluded.
The judge sentenced him to 20 years in prison and a fine of 55,000 rupees, as he was found guilty.
Senior police officers praised the police for investigating the case well and paying special attention to the court proceedings and getting the culprits due punishment.
